Transformation of Høje Taastrup urban spaces
2005 NOVEMBER 13 | The outlines of the new physical framework of Sydtorvet and Banebroen at Høje Taastrup Station are beginning to emerge. The outdoor spaces will get a cohesive identity that respects the iconic “Yellow City” (Den Gule By). New paving and lighting will create a clearer hierarchy for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists. A large concrete deck has been removed to improve visibility and enhance safety. The paved areas are balanced by new trees and greenery, while new seating areas on the sunny side will support urban life. Høje-Taastrup Municipality and Wihlborgs Fastigheter AB are the clients for Sydtorvet. Høje-Taastrup Municipality and DSB Ejendomme are the clients for Banebroen. URBAN POWER is the architect on the project, and Danakon – Rådgivende Ingeniører is responsible for the structural engineering.
