Vertical local farming is made possible with this bold proposal for a residential tower, inspired by the proximity to the former produce market of Copenhagen.

Instead of placing traditional balconies in a tower, where the windy danish climate makes it difficult for plants to grow, greenhouses doubling as balconies allow the city dweller the pleasure of growing their own vegetables and fruits.

URBAN POWER designed the entry for this new apartment tower in Copenhagen.

Combining the advantages of living in an apartment in the city with the much sought after gratifications from tending your own, little garden, the residential tower offers a special quality of urban life. 

The private greenhouses of the apartments give its residents an outside space that is shielded from the wind when necessary, and can be opened up to function as a balcony on calmer and warmer days. 

The height of the tower allows for a unique outlook over the city of Copenhagen and gracefully bridges the stylistic differences between a modern, urban and a green, sustainable lifestyle.
