With the urban densification of the geographical center of Hvidovre, new public spaces in human scale will emerge. Between the current library and the future culture house, the cultural and social activities are gathered, producing an active and lively area.
Based on local characteristics, the different zones are bound together by inviting, green paths along the water features that doubles as a safeguard against cloudbursts.
URBAN POWER designed the urban plan for the parallel assignment, leading to the plan for the future centre of Hvidovre.
The new town centre will accommodate meetings both with natural and cultural elements, as its safe and pleasant pedestrian zones guide you to the city park, the winter garden, the theater, the children’s culture center, the concert venue, shops and the City Hall.
Through the proximity of these diverse facilities, the activities of the institutions and associations in Hvidovre are concentrated, creating a liveliness that strengthens the local culture and social coherence of its inhabitants. As a result, the area remains attractive as a place to settle down or open a business in.
