URBAN POWER’s design won the competition for the future town hall square of Ski. The proposal was chosen from 32 entries by the jury led by Mayor Hanne Opdan.
Ski Town Hall Square, also known as Nedre Torg, will contain a variety of possible activities for its citizens, creating a place that draws people in and allows them to meet regardless of demography. The square is a green urban space that connects and defines the city centre by giving precedence to pedestrian traffic.
The lively urban environment is enhanced with multiple sports facilities, cafées, a green playground and several raised seating areas in wood. The open plaza allows for adaptation and can function as a market, an ice rink, a scene for performances or exhibitions and as a rainwater reservoir.
